Why ride in a group

Better together,
and better value.

Group snowboard lessons are a fun way to learn with other boarders of a similar standard. Suitable for everyone from novice to expert, our professional instructors help you develop your skills and get more out of every session – with the energy of a class around you.

Classes are capped at just six riders, so you still get real coaching attention. Every lesson runs for 45 minutes and opens with a short safety briefing before you head out onto the slope.

Book lessons one at a time, or take the special-offer block of six and lock in your spot as you climb the levels. Courses run through the winter and start every couple of weeks.

The group buzz

Progress is
contagious.

There’s something about chasing your first clean turn while the rest of the class does the same. You feed off each other, you laugh off the falls, and you come back every week a little braver. That’s the magic of learning in a group.

Progression explained

Six levels,
one clear line up.

Every class is grouped by ability so you're always learning with riders at your stage. Pick the level that matches where you are now – not sure, just ask when you book. Each level builds on the last.

1

First slides

Get to know your equipment, run through the safety talk, and take your first straight-run slides down the slope.

2

Side-slipping & control

Review level 1, then learn to side-slip on both toe and heel edge for a controlled, confident descent.

3

Diagonal side-slip

Review level 2, then take the diagonal side-slip across the slope on both your toe and heel edges.

4

Edge to the fall line

Review level 3, then work your heel and toe edge all the way to the fall line – the doorway to turning.

5

Isolated C-turns

Review level 4, then ride isolated C-turns, linking heel-to-toe and toe-to-heel with growing flow.

6

Linked S-turns

Review level 5, then link your C-turns together and progress into smooth, continuous S-turns. You're riding.

Good to know

Before you
strap in.

Long sleeves and long trousers – old clothes you don't mind getting damp, dressed for the weather. Bring gloves (you can buy a pair at reception) and we strongly recommend wrist guards. Helmets and all snowboard kit are provided.
Arrive 15 minutes before your lesson starts so there's time to collect your kit and meet your instructor before you head out onto the slope.
A maximum of six riders per group lesson. Small classes mean you still get plenty of individual attention from your instructor while enjoying the buzz of learning alongside others.
Your lesson goes ahead whatever the weather – in fact, the slope runs even better in the wet. Just bring appropriate waterproof clothing and you're good to go.
Our adult group lessons and the Fast-Trax course are for ages 16 and over. Younger riders are well looked after too – see our Kids & Junior Snowboarding for the Academy (from age 8 in a group), or book a private lesson from age 4.
Full payment is taken when you book. Give us at least 24 hours' notice and we'll happily reschedule. We don't offer refunds, but we can issue a voucher when the notice is given in time.
Book online through our booking system in a few clicks, or call reception on 01202 499155 and we'll get you booked into the right class for your level.
