Welcome to the squad

The pinnacle of
ski performance.

Looking to race competitively? Look no further. The Snowtrax Race Squad has been engineered from the ground up to give youth athletes the very best training and facilities – so every member can be the best they can be.

Squad sessions blend technical ski development with slalom racing through cones and poles, led by our highly qualified coaching team. Training is fast, focused and full of fun, in a friendly environment where children of all ages mix and share a love of snowsports.

Because of the advanced nature of this tuition, places are usually offered by invitation, based on technical ability and dedication – often to our strongest skiers coming through the Academy. New to Snowtrax but keen to race? Get in touch and we’ll help you find the right way in.

Two squads, one club

Find your level.

The Race Squad runs in two groups so racers train with skiers at a similar stage. Wherever you start, there’s a clear path to progress – and a coaching team that knows exactly how to get you there.

Race Squad 1

Young Racers

Ages 6+

The entry point for our youngest competitors. Builds rock-solid technique and an introduction to slalom – turning skill and confidence into real race ability.

Race Squad 2

Teens & Adults

Ages 12+

For experienced racers aged 12 and up – including teens and adults. Sharper drills, more demanding course layouts, and a focus on shaving time off every run.

Alpine Rockets & up

Many squad members are invited from our Academy sessions. Skiing with us already? Speak to your coach about whether ski racing at Snowtrax could be your next step.

The race programme

What you’ll train.

Every session combines technical ski development with proper race training. Coaches mix the exercises and course layouts to keep things challenging – raising the level for the whole squad, week after week.

Technique & control

The foundation of fast skiing. We take racers from plough-to-parallel right through to high-speed carving, building precision and balance that hold up at race pace.

Slalom racing

An introduction to slalom through cones and modified poles. Pole training combines a range of exercises that sharpen every aspect of race performance, run after run.

Advanced skills

Once the basics are dialled in, the fun really starts – bumps at speed, javelin turns, railing, 360 spins with no stepping, and even backward parallel turns.

Squad & synchro

Racing is a team sport too. Skiers learn to match speed with a buddy, ski synchronised lines and push each other on – all in a supportive, friendly squad.

Join the club

More than a
lesson.

Race Squad is a proper club – a group of friends who train together, travel to races together, and celebrate every win, big or small. Pull on the squad jersey and you’re part of something. From first poles to the start gate, our coaches are with your racer every step of the way. If they’ve got the drive, we’ll give them the platform.

Season & commitment

What’s involved.

Race Squad is a year-round commitment with regular weekly training – a midweek evening session and a Saturday morning session – so racers build steadily across the season rather than in stop-start bursts.

Membership works as a one-off joining fee, an annual club membership (which includes a Race Squad jersey), and a charge per training session. It’s a real commitment – and that consistency is exactly what turns keen skiers into confident racers.

Current session times, prices and the full race calendar are kept up to date in our booking system and on the official Race Squad website, so you’re always seeing the latest. Join part-way through the year and we’ll pro-rata your membership fairly.

Club & squad races

Friendly in-house races and timed runs give every member a regular chance to test themselves and chase a new personal best.

Regional series

Stronger racers step up to regional dry-slope series and open events across the South, racing skiers from other clubs.

National & schools

For the most dedicated, there’s a pathway toward national dry-slope championships and English Schools’ ski racing.

Kit & equipment

Just getting started? Kit hire for skis, boots and helmets is available, so new racers can find their feet before investing. Most squad members move on to their own skis, boots and protective equipment – it makes a real difference to development and performance. For the latest race ski advice and the right gear at every stage, our team in the Snowtrax store is always happy to help.
