The Fast-Trax course is our bespoke pre-season programme for complete beginners. Six 45-minute lessons, same day and time each week, in a class of no more than six – the best-value way to walk into winter already turning.

Group ski lessons are a great way to learn with other skiers of a similar standard. Suitable for everyone from complete beginner to confident parallel, our professional instructors help you develop your skills and get more out of every session – with the energy of a class around you.
Classes are capped at just six skiers, so you still get real coaching attention. Every lesson runs for 45 minutes and opens with a short safety briefing before you head out onto the slope.
Book lessons one at a time, or take the special-offer block of six and lock in your spot as you climb the levels. Courses run through the winter and start regularly.

Six levels,
one clear line down.
Every class is grouped by ability so you're always learning with skiers at your stage. Pick the level that matches where you are now – not sure, just ask when you book. Each level builds on the last.
1Start here
First steps
Get to know your equipment, run through the safety talk, sidestep, and take your first straight runs down the slope.
2Building
The snowplough
Review level 1, then form a snowplough to glide, brake and bring yourself to a controlled, confident stop.
3Turning
Snowplough turns
Review level 2, then link your first snowplough turns, steering smoothly across the slope in both directions.
4Linking up
Riding the lift
Review level 3, then ride the lift safely and bring your linked plough turns to the full main slope.
5Matching
Towards parallel
Review level 4, then start matching your skis at the end of each turn – the plough-parallel stepping stone.
6Skiing
Parallel turns
Review level 5, then link smooth, continuous parallel turns down the slope. You're skiing – and the Ski Social takes it from here.

Everything you need to know before you book. Tell us your level when you book and we'll place you in the right class – equipment hire is included, with skis, boots and a helmet all provided from our rental shop.
Learning with friends? Book together if you're a similar standard so the whole class moves at the same pace. Group lessons run through the winter season – for general centre hours see our opening times . Booking and full payment are required in advance.

Good to know
Before you
click in.
Long sleeves and long trousers – old clothes you don't mind getting damp, dressed for the weather. Bring gloves (you can buy a pair at reception). Helmets, skis and boots are all provided.
Arrive 15 minutes before your lesson starts so there's time to collect your kit and meet your instructor before you head out onto the slope.
A maximum of six skiers per group lesson. Small classes mean you still get plenty of individual attention from your instructor while enjoying the buzz of learning alongside others.
Your lesson goes ahead whatever the weather – in fact, the slope runs even better in the wet. Just bring appropriate waterproof clothing and you're good to go.
Our adult group lessons and the Fast-Trax course are for ages 16 and over. Younger skiers are well looked after too – see our Kids & Junior Skiing for the Alpine Stars Academy (from age 8 in a group), or book a private lesson from age 6.
Full payment is taken when you book. Give us at least 24 hours' notice and we'll happily reschedule. We don't offer refunds, but we can issue a voucher when the notice is given in time.
