Get the
crew out.

Youth groups are built for exactly this: trying new things, getting outdoors and doing it together. A trip to Snowtrax delivers all three in a single visit – and for most young people it’s their first ever go on snow.

We welcome Scouting and Girlguiding sections, cadet units, brigades and youth clubs of every size. Qualified instructors lead the snowsports, everything runs on the all-weather Proslope whatever the weather, and young people are grouped by age and ability so the nervous ones feel safe and the bold ones get a proper challenge.

Weekday evenings and weekends tend to suit youth groups best – tell us your meeting night or a weekend date and we’ll see what we can line up.

Who we host

Every section,
welcome.

From the youngest sections to senior units, we’ll pitch the day to suit your young people. Mixed-age groups are no problem – we’ll split and rotate so everyone gets the right level of challenge.

Beavers, Cubs & Rainbows

Our youngest visitors love the Ringos and the Adventure Park, with gentle first tastes of the slope. Loads of fun, plenty of supervision, big grins all round.

Scouts, Guides & Brigades

Ready for a real challenge. Snowsports sessions build skill and resilience, and the day can feed straight into badge and award work.

Cadets, Explorers & Youth Clubs

Older groups can push themselves on the slope or in the park, work as a team and take on something genuinely new – a memorable night out with substance.

Badges & awards

Count it
towards a badge.

A visit can support all sorts of badge, challenge and award work across Scouting, Girlguiding and other youth programmes. We’ll happily help you connect the day to what your young people are working on – here are some of the angles leaders use.

Snowsports & skills

Learning to ski, snowboard or master the Ringos slope is a natural fit for activity, sports and skills-based badges that ask young people to try and develop a new pursuit.

Outdoor & adventure

An outdoor, adventurous challenge in an unfamiliar setting – useful evidence for outdoor-challenge and adventure-themed badges and award sections.

Teamwork & confidence

Encouraging each other up the slope and pushing past nerves builds teamwork, communication and personal confidence – the heart of so many award programmes.

Plan with us

Tell us which badge or award you’re aiming at and we’ll suggest how to shape the session so young people get exactly the experience they need to log it.

Badge and award requirements are set by your own organisation – we don’t award them ourselves, but we’re glad to provide the activity and a hand mapping it to your programme.

Try something new

Out of the
comfort zone.

The best youth nights are the ones where someone does a thing they didn’t think they could. Standing up on skis. Flying down on a Ringo. That spark is what we’re here for.

Good to know

We’ve got the gear.
You bring the energy.

All the technical kit is provided. Here’s what we look after and what your young people need to turn up wearing, plus the practical bits for leaders.

Included – sorted for you

  • All equipment – skis or board, boots and helmets
  • Qualified instructors – leading every snowsports session
  • Risk assessments – available on request for your records
  • Friendly support – mapping the day to your badges or awards

Young people should bring

  • Long sleeves and long trousers – joggers, not tight jeans
  • Gloves – anything covering the fingers (spares at reception)
  • Long socks and old clothes they don’t mind getting mucky
  • Waterproofs if rain’s forecast, and any signed consent forms

Accompanying leaders and helpers are welcome and part of the plan – we’ll confirm supervision and free-place arrangements when we sort your booking. The Alpine Pub is on site for hot drinks and food if you fancy making a proper evening of it.

From the leaders

What leaders say.

“

Took our Cub pack for an evening and it was the highlight of the term. The instructors were superb with the younger ones, and we tied it neatly into their activity badge. Easy to organise, too.

Our Guides talked about it for weeks. A genuine adventure that pushed them out of their comfort zone, and the Snowtrax team couldn’t have been more helpful with the planning and paperwork.

Brilliant for our cadets – teamwork, resilience and a proper laugh on the Ringos to finish. Great value for a group and somewhere genuinely different. We’ll be back.
